📁 Sorting and Filtering

Sorting Data: Arranging data in a specific order – either ascending (A-Z) or descending (Z-A).

➭ Example: Sorting names alphabetically or numbers from smallest to largest.

Types of Sorting:

1. Ascending Order – A to Z or 1 to 100

2. Descending Order – Z to A or 100 to 1

🔍 Filtering Data

➥ Filtering displays only the rows that meet specific conditions.

➥ It helps in viewing only the required data from a large dataset.

➭ Click on Filter from the Data tab to apply filters.

🎨 Conditional Formatting

➥ Conditional formatting changes the appearance of cells based on conditions.

➥ Helps to highlight important data visually.

➭ Example: Color a cell red if the value is below 50.

📊 Charts in Excel

➥ Charts represent data graphically.

➥ They make it easier to compare and analyze information.

➭ Example: Sales report shown as a bar chart.

🧩 Components of a Chart

Chart Area: Entire chart including all elements.

Plot Area: Area where the data is plotted.

X-Axis: Horizontal line representing categories.

Y-Axis: Vertical line showing values.

Legend: Shows the meaning of chart symbols.

Data Series: Actual data values shown in chart.

Chart Title: Describes the purpose of the chart.

📈 Types of Charts

Column Chart: Vertical bars – used to compare values.

Bar Chart: Horizontal bars – good for long labels.

Line Chart: Shows trends over time.

Pie Chart: Displays data in percentages or parts of a whole.

🛠️ Creating a Chart

➥ Select the data range.

➥ Click on Insert tab and choose desired chart type.

➥ Excel will generate the chart based on selected data.

🎛️ Changing Chart Attributes

➥ You can change chart elements like title, colors, layout, and style.

➥ Click on chart → use Chart Tools to modify appearance.

🔄 Changing Chart Type

➥ You can switch from one chart type to another.

➥ Example: Change a bar chart into a pie chart.

➥ Go to Design Tab → Change Chart Type.

➥ Layout refers to the position of chart components (title, legend, axis).

➥ Click on File → Print to print your worksheet.

➥ You can preview the sheet before printing.

➥ Use Page Layout tab to adjust margins, orientation, etc.
